Local Farmers Markets (Ferias)

Derrick Poelsma

I must admit living here in Costa Rica is awesome. One of the wonderful luxuries of living here is having access to an abundance of good fresh locally farmed & organic veggies and fruits. Farmers Markets in Costa Rica are called (Ferias). We have 4 of them in between Tamarindo and Flamingo/Potrero area. If you are frequenting the Tamarindo or La Paz Feria’s, I recommend to go early because some vendors like Vida y Salud Huerta ORGANIC veggie providers sell out quick! Eevn so, they make home deliveries twice a week for orders more than $20. Visit their facebook page and send them a message, they will then add you to their bi-weekly menu mail out with what’s NOT available that week. All orders must be made and paid for via bank transfer before 1pm the day before delivery. Delivery days are Wednesday & Saturday’s.

*To my knowledge Vida Y Salud Huerta is the only TRUE ORGANIC fruit & veggie vendor here in the area.

Organic fruits and veggies Costa RicaAnyone is welcome to sell their goods & wares here at these markets, so long as you pay the small vendor fee. It’s a great place to shop, mingle and meet people — all while supporting local vendors and craftspeople.
